A socket mop is the traditional yarn mop head that pushes onto a socket handle and is used with a bucket and wringer. It holds a lot of water, suits uneven floors and rough surfaces, and the head is replaced as a whole when it wears out. A flat mop uses a rectangular frame with a washable pad fixed to it, is lighter to work with, and lays down a thinner film of solution so floors dry faster. Purozo stocks both, so the choice usually comes down to floor type, how wet the area gets and whether your team prefers a bucket or a spray system.

The duty rating tells you what the sack is built to carry. Medium duty sacks are rated around 10kg and suit light office and washroom waste such as paper and packaging. Heavy duty sacks are rated around 15kg and are the usual choice for general mixed waste. Compactor sacks are made for waste compactors and for anything heavy or awkward, where a standard sack would split. Colour matters too: black is the everyday option, clear is often used where the contents need to be visible, and separate colours help keep recycling streams apart. You can, and some small sites do, but you lose the protection colour coding gives you. The point of the system is that the mop used in the toilets is visibly not the mop used in the kitchen, so cross contamination does not depend on anyone remembering. If a single colour is the practical choice for now, the usual first step is to split out red for washrooms and green for food areas, then add blue and yellow later.

Biodegradable simply means something will eventually break down, with no set timeframe and no guarantee about what it leaves behind. Compostable is the stricter term: the product has been tested to break down within a defined period, under defined conditions, into material that does no harm to the compost. That distinction matters most for caddy liners and wipes, where the waste stream they go into is the whole point. Check the certification on the individual product, and whether it is intended for industrial or home composting.
